ONE OF THE HUNDRED REMARKABLE SITES OF THE TASTE OF FRANCE

N 1994, the National council of the Arts of cooking, at the request of the ministry for the Culture and in close connection with the ministries for Agriculture, Tourism and the Environment selected in France 100 Remarkable Sites of the Taste, among which Ripaille. Three criteria were taken into account. It must be a question of a place of production in activity, in the case of Ripaille it is its wine which held the attention. The site must also have an aesthetic interest and be open to the visitors.

onorés by this distinction, the persons in charge of this site endeavour to develop even more the tradition to make there Ripaille, tradition which goes back at least to the time of Amédée VIII, of which the cook, Maître Chiquart left a famous treaty of gastronomy.

'is as well as the wine Castle of Feast obtained two new gold medals in 1997. In addition the management of the restaurant the Garden of the Castle (open of mid-June to mid-September) was entrusted to a chief largely recognized in the national guides, Mr Charles Plumex, owner of the restaurant the Priory with Thonon.
